The Blurb Reads...
This book is a pregnancy diary. There are also some other mums accounts of pregnancy and birth, and also a hints and tips section.
While writing this book I came to the conclusion that at no time in our lives do we have quite so many urgent and burning questions as when we’re pregnant. That white stick you have just urinated on goes from ‘peeing on a stick’ to one of the most important and memorable moments in your life. This is my story, from conception, through my pregnancy and labour, written by a real person. I am no one special; in fact, technically I am a complete nobody. I am a normal girl brought up in Lancashire and only my friends, old school pals, teachers and old work colleagues have heard of me. I am not claiming that my pregnancy, birth or child for that matter is anything extraordinary but I hope that anyone reading this will come out of the other side seeing a different perspective, relating to me in some way, or find an escape for those few precious hours reading it, hopefully even finding it useful. This diary was my therapist, my way to vent, organise my thoughts and also a way to come to terms with the whole idea of becoming a mum. Basically it is my life, warts and all – everyone loves a scandal, everyone would jump at the chance to read someone else’s diary, so why not mine?! Come on in and Enjoy!
Upon reading this book, I could relate to so many things Louise's pregnancy and mine had a few similarities, this helped me feel engaged. Louise writes the novel as a diary, but also including some information at the beginning so you know a little about her life to be able to engage.  The diary gives you a step by step guide as to what Louise and both her family and friends experienced during the 9months of pregnancy. Nothing is left out in regards to experiences and appointments; also covering things many mums-to-be wonder but dare not ask.

Louise's account of pregnancy and birth is not the same as other mums would be, but Louise has thought about this and included other views of pregnancy and birth within the back of the book. There are different accounts and different birthing ways included which many can relate too. A list of useful items you may need is also included. Also included are other  pregnancy happens explained such as nesting, diet, and the different types of birth and pain relief.

I can honestly say this book is not like any others which you are able to find which explain everything using professional terminology or as if a medical professional is talking at you. It is a true account of pregnancy, and throughout you feel as if you know the author. I recommend this book to any pregnant mum to be, or even dads to get a view of a mothers growing life. Also, recommended to parents who already have children or anyone who loves to read a true story. I only wish there was a novel around like this when I was pregnant so I knew what I was experiencing may have been normal, or maybe not normal.

This novel can be purchased from Amazon for only £2.94.
