I love crisps, I find them a great addition to lunch, but being on a diet and trying to lose the dreaded baby weight 18months on. However finding some ‘healthy’ crisps which taste as good as ‘average’ crisps can be a difficult task, and I like variety! The crisps I find with the best flavour are in fact Walkers, so when I was given the opportunity to try their fantastic new range of crisps which have 30% less fat than standard potato crisps I couldn’t refuse!
Walkers Mighty Lights are a new range from Walkers and are tasty ridged crisps available within 3 different flavours; Lightly Salted, Cheese and Onion and Roast Chicken. We received a six pack of each flavour to try, which was perfect as it gave a great variety. Cheese & Onion is one flavour which I find some other companies don’t do as well, nor do they taste well as low fat crisps. However, Walkers prove me wrong with the Mighty Lights, tasting just as good as regular crisps.
As I stated above, Walkers Mighty Lights are a ridged crisp, and I feel this adds to the intense flavour they have. I also feel they last a little longer than standard crisps are they are slightly thicker. The flavours are tasted throughout each bite of the crisps.
These crisps were taste-tested by lots of us. I tasted both the cheese and onion and roast chicken which were both lovely. We recently had Ashley’s family round so I also gave them a packet each to try. They all thoroughly enjoyed the crisps and didn’t think any different about the flavour or know they had less fat until I told them afterwards. That’s surely a good point?
So not only do Walkers Mighty Lights consist of 30% less fat than standard crisps, they are also suitable for vegetarians, made from real potatoes and contain no artificial colours, preservatives or MSG. As real potatoes are used, it gives these crisps a source of fibre. Knowing all of this made me feel more confident in giving them to Jack to try. I know he enjoys all the little treats that we do, but I like to know he isn’t having too much ‘bad stuff’ included in his diet. Another thing I liked was the bags are 25g, so this is an ideal size for children’s lunch boxes.
Typical Nutritional Values
A 25g pack of Lightly Salted Walker's Mighty Lights contains 114 kcal, 4.7g Fat (7%), 1.2g Fibre and 0.28g Salt (5%).

So all of us here and extended family agree the Walkers Mighty Lights are tasty and get a big thumbs up from all of us! I would definitely recommend these to others, especially those with children who enjoy crisps or those who love crisps and are trying to lose a few lbs.
