Braun ThermoScan IRT ear thermometer Review

Braun ThermoScan IRT ear thermometer with ExacTemp technology IRT4520

There is nothing worse than having a sick child - especially when you can't take their temperature. When I was pregnant and for the first six weeks of having Jack, my dad lived with us and we had a fantastic Braun thermometer to use. However, when he left he took it with him, weird. When Jack then started nursery he would come home with a variety of illnesses whilst he built up him immune system. At first we didn't replace the thermometer, but then purchased one which is built into a soother/pacifier. Now this was great Jack would easily take it and we could quickly get a reading. However, we soon realised the readings weren't always accurate and Jack has since learnt how to take it apart so we are back with no thermometer - fab with cold and flu season approaching.

I had been looking for a new one and knew I wanted an in-ear one again, like the Braun we previously had. Luckily I was then given an opportunity to review the Braun Thermoscan IRT 4520. A week after receiving the thermometer, Jack came down with yet another bug and was sent home ill from nursery - the only good thing to this was being able to use our new thermometer.
Braun Thermoscan IRT 4020. My Mummys World

The Braun Thermoscan IRT 4520 is easy to use, simply place a filter on, press the power button, place the probe into the ear and press the start button. Above the start button there is a green light, whilst taking the temperature this will flash, when the reading has been taken accurately the thermometer will beep and display the accurate reading. It only takes a few seconds to get a reading, so perfect for wriggly children.

The Braun Thermoscan comes in the box with a storage unit and 21 disposable lens filters. The filters can be stored within the unit with the thermometer sitting on top. Therefore providing easy storage with everything in one place. The thermometer is powered by 2 AA batteries which are included. As with all products it comes with a manual, inside you can find out the normal body temperature ranges for each age range.

Braun Thermoscan IRT 4520 is highly recommended by doctors, paediatricians and mothers and I can clearly recommend it too. I know my doctors and the out of hours doctors use this thermometer. This is definitely the best thermometer I've used. It is simple to use yet so effective which in return equals to no stress for the user. The Braun Thermoscan IRT 4520 is available from Boots, Mothercare, John Lewis and Mamas & Papas with an RRP of £43.90 which I think is a fantastic price. You can then purchase additional lens filters in a box of 40 for £7.99

Please Note: I received this Thermometer for the purpose of this review. All wordings and Opinions are my own.
