Damart Round Neck Sweater

Wednesday, 6 November 2013
There is nothing I love more in the autumn and winter than wrapping up in warm cuddly clothes. However sometimes you can feel a bit too bulky in lots of layers. Someone once suggested to me to wear thermals as I often complain I'm cold but in my younger days thermals were only for older people, how wrong was I?
I was recently given the chance to review an item from Damart's Thermolactyl range. This year Damart's Thermolactyl range is celebrating their 60th year of production.
'In 1953, something rather remarkable happened. Damart developed and patented Thermolactyl, a unique man-made fibre now renowned for its ability to provide warmth without lots of bulky layers.' 'Damart's everyday thermals are graded from the warmest at grade 5 to the lightest grade 1. The grade you need depends on the weather conditions, your level of activity and your own personal preference.'
I personally had never heard of the brand Damart previous to this review opportunity, however they are very well known across the European retail market. Making a variety of items for both ladies and gentlemen as well as a selection of home and garden products there is simply something for everyone.
So from the wide choice of Thermals in which Damart offer I opted to review the Round Neck Sweater in grey. This is not something I would normally opt to wear, infact no thermals are, see above. However I thought this would be the perfect way to introduce myself to thermals as well as it being a lovely item for the cooler autumn season we are now experiencing.

Upon wearing the top it was very comfortable, and is very light and soft to wear providing a breathable layer. It is a thermal and wool mix being made of 70% Acrylic and 30% Wool for warmth. This top is machine washable and upon washing and drying its remained in it original shape and feels as soft as when I got it which is always a fab thing to know.
'Versatile knitwear in our unbeatable thermal/wool mix for exceptional warmth. Layer the cardigan over a jersey top or team it with the matching sweater to create a stylish yet cosy twinset.'
This sweater is available in two colours, Ruby and Grey and is priced at £35 which I feel it a fantastic price for a thermal item.
I'm definitely converted and know that thermals are not just for the older folk at least this winter I shall be warm without all the bulky layers.

Please Note: I received this sweater in regards for an open honest review. All opinions are my own.
