Recently we were given the opportunity to review Something Special, Mr Tumble's Big Book of Counting. Now Jack has never really watched Mr Tumble as such but recently when he's seen or heard Mr Tumble in the background noise or in a morning he has been glued to watching it.
So when given this opportunity I thought it would be perfect for Jack seen as he now is a big fan of 'Tumble'. I'm currently attempting to get Jack to learn to count, we do lots of counting activities, but you can never have too many fun ways to learn. This book helps you to learn to count from 1 to 5 with Mr Tumble, Fisherman Tumble, Grandad Tumble, Aunt Polly and Baker Tumble.
The book itself is quite large in size, so perfect for little hands. The page features a large number and it written underneath for both visiual memories, the number also features lines for you to trace and learn how to write it.Each page features a range of shapes and items such as spots and stars, it also features lift out flaps which reveal the characters.
Each page is dedicated to a single number and then at the back of the book, is a simple counting page of 1 to 5, which is a fun way to recap what you've just seen but also count in sequence. This is a fun was for children to begin to learn letters. Jack has really enjoyed reading it, as has one of his friends who is slightly older than Jack.
I would definitely recommend this book to others, it carries an RRP of £7.99.
