Week 38.

It's hard to believe I'm almost at the end of this pregnancy journey. It started off rather slow and I was thinking it would take forever to reach the end, now it's nearing I'm not wanting it to end.

I only have one more midwife appointment now before baby arrives. At my last midwife appointment everything was well - my fundal measurements are following the curve after the drop so now we are following the 50th line rather than 90th. I don't feel that my stomach has grown much more over the past few weeks, it had on my fundal measurements but I'm struggling to see the change. My pelvis is becoming more painful and I can tell baby is definitely low down. I'm rather lethargic as I'm struggling to sleep at night but its something I've learnt to cope with.

This week baby is averaging a weight around 7lbs, I'm guessing baby is above that considering she was 6lbs6 roughly 3 weeks ago. All organs are now fully formed and ready for life outside of mum's tummy. The only remaining change left to happen is babies eye colour, due to lack of pigment.

  1. I think the lack of sleep leading up to the birth is to prepare us for what lays ahead ;-)

Not long now! I know what you mean - it goes so slowly for the most part then suddenly speeds up at the end! xx
