My support for my feeding journey comes from my mum. I'm lucky that I'm very close to my mum and she supports me throughout all my parenting journeys. However I've found her support whilst breastfeeding to be amazing.

I'm an only child and I was formula fed so my mum has no personal experience of breastfeeding. However, she has been willing to help support me throughout my journey. Before I began my feeding journey, I told my mum I was scared of failing I wanted to try my hardest and wanted what was best for my child. I was willing to formula feed again if it didn't go to plan but wanted to give it my best shot at breastfeeding. So in the initial days when I had the latch problems, when everything hurt my mum was so supportive.

When I had the breastfeeding support come in, she would text me to see how it went then when she returned home would ask me in detail how I was feeling, how it went with the support lady. When I've been out in public with mum and Isla has needed a feed mum has always helped me with covering up, helping with holding Isla with the feeding in public in the early days.

I think my mum's support when feeding in public also helped me gain more confidence with public feeding. Honestly my mum's support has definitely helped me continue with my breastfeeding journey. I do have some support from others however none is as good as my mums.
