Joanne Helcke Online Pregnancy and Post Natal Pilates

Nearing the end of my pregnancy I was given the opportunity to review the Dr Joanna Helcke's online pregnancy and postnatal fitness programme. I am now 10 weeks post partum and 4 weeks into the programme.

The first 6 weeks of the programme are specifically designed for your postnatal body before the 6 week post partum check. I began the programme just a few days before and I've since been back and looked over the initial videos. Interestingly in week 3 you are able to check if you have abdominal separation and from week 4 the gentle exercise begins.

Dr Joanna Helcke Week 10 Pilates

The videos themselves are incredibly calming and easy to follow, perfect for me. Each video is around 15-30 minutes long varying each week. I struggled to find time to do the video so had Jack join in with me, which he enjoyed. Dr Joanna Helcke is clear throughout her videos and clearly explains each individual exercise. I've never done pilates before so worry about the positions but with clear explanations I believe I'm doing them correctly.

With each individual move Dr Joanna Helcke explains the reasoning behind it, and how it will help you post-natally. If your body isn't ready for the move suggested there are alternatives available. I've noticed the exercise progressing over the first four weeks and I expect the next lot to get progressively harder, only time will tell.

Dr Joanna Helcke Week 10 Pilates To Do List
In addition to the weekly pilates videos, there is also a weekly 'to do' list which has some stomach exercises and other tips; there is also access to an easy meal planner. One of the great things about this programme is not only do you have access to a forum with many other users, but you are also able to email Dr Joanna Helcke directly for advice and support. I think this is one of the main things I love about this programme, having someone 'real' to talk to and not a bunch of FAQ's.
The programme is priced at just £12 per month, which I think is a fab price for what you actually get. I would definitely recommend to new mums who are looking to exercise but can't find time to go to classes.

Please Note: I have been given a three month subscription to Dr Joanna Helcke's online fitness programme in return for this review. All opinions are my own.
