Mini Boxes from Weekend Box Club | A Review

With the lack of sunshine recently and increase in rain, we've been doing lots of indoor activities. Recently, Weekend Box Club got in touch asking if we would like to try one of their new Mini Weekend Box, and intrigued to know me I agreed.

I had a read about the boxes first and was excited for it to arrive. Basically you sign up to the service and  you are sent a box of goodies full of activities for you to do on the weekend. The box is small enough to fit through your letterbox and contains almost everything you will need to complete the activities. The hard part of thinking of an activity and then purchasing all the needed items is done for you allowing you more time to spend with your children and watching them learn.

We received a brightly coloured small box through the door which was really appealing to Jack and he couldn't wait to open it up and see what was inside. Included within the mini box were two activities - grow a rainforest and make a parrot mask. More or less everything you needed was included within the pack, complete with easy to follow instructions, some stickers, facts about the rainforests and also a certificate on the inside of the box.

First, Jack wanted to do the make a parrot mask, this came complete with foam, card, glue, crayons and elastic as well as a mask template and we simply needed to supply the scissors. The instructions to make the mask were simple to follow although a bit difficult for Jack (however hes at the younger age of the recommendations being 3). With a little bit of help Jack made his own mask which he was very proud of.

Next, was the grow a rainforest activity which was complete with soil, seeds and string and simply needed to provide a bottle and scissors. Again, step by step instructions were included and it was easy enough for Jack to complete. When we had planted the seeds we talked about the rainforest and the importance of them to the planet.

This mini weekend box was very fun and educational and Jack thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sure he would enjoy a regular weekend box too if this is anything to go by. This mini box includes two smaller activities rather than four which are in the larger boxes. They are perfect for busy families who may have limited time. Priced at £4.95 for smaller boxes and £7.50 for the regular larger boxes, included within the price is all of the materials and free postage. The mini boxes are sent fortnightly however you can pause or cancel your boxes at any time you don't sign into any contract or commitments.

I would definitely recommend these to parents who can afford the little extra. Its a lovely activities and perfect for rainy afternoons or a little quiet time. If your still not sure, you can use the code ZOE319 to receive a complimentary Weekend Box when you sign up here.

Please Note: We received a complimentary mini weekend box for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in anyway.
