Protecting Against Fleas and Ticks with FRONTLINE Plus

Regular readers will know I’m a pet lover, especially a dog lover and if you follow me on social media, you will know we recently added two new puppies to the family, meaning we are now a household of three dogs. They have their own Instagram too.

When you purchase or adopt a puppy and you go to the vets, or even from the breeders, you will be told a lot about treating for fleas and worms on a regular basis, but if you’re a new dog owner you may take this as the only thing to be wary of. In fact you need to be wary of ticks too. I’ve mentioned before about my worries with ticks and their dangers.

As for fleas, I’m not sure if you’ve ever had them on your pet or within your house, they are fairly common and having a flea infestation does not mean you have a dirty home, but they can be a complete pain to get rid of if not treated correctly.
Recently, leading flea and tick protection FRONTLINE® have launched a new product called FRONTLINE® Plus. This not only kills fleas and ticks on your pet but contains an additional active ingredient that stops flea eggs from hatching and larvae developing within the home. When applied every four weeks FRONTLINE Plus helps protect cats and dogs from both fleas and ticks*.

Having young children now I really don’t want to be dealing with fleas, and certainly don’t want ticks either so ensuring each of our dogs are protected is of great importance to me. My children absolutely love the dogs and can be found playing or cuddling them at least twice daily so anything can be quickly spread. However it doesn’t just take children to spread them around, new adult fleas simply hatch out from their cocoons, jump and soon breed.

Alongside the new product launch, a national roadshow is taking place where the FRONTLINE Plus House goes on tour raising awareness of the risks of fleas and ticks for your pets and your homes. They launched in the middle of Victoria station on September 1st and are now visiting 5 pet shows around the UK. To date the tour has included attendance at Paws in the Park, Kent and All About Dogs, Essex, with further appearances to be made at the following pet shows:

  • Family Pet Show, Manchester – 1st-2nd October
  • Discover Dogs, London – 22nd-23rd October
  • National Pet Show, Birmingham – 5th-6th November

The house features a typical living room and garden and encourages visitors to explore and take part in a flea and tick fact hunt. By doing so or sharing photos on social media (with hashtag #fleaticktour), you can receive instant rewards through a ‘lucky dip’. Also, by signing up to the free FRONTLINE treatment reminders pet owners have a chance to WIN a £1,500 pet-friendly Forest Holiday or one of five pet photo shoots worth £500!**
