Bob The Builder Toys from Smoby | A Review

A couple of weeks back Jack was sent a massive parcel, I'm not even joking there. We were decorating his room at the time so it took a couple of days to open. However we couldn't wait any longer to discover what was inside to find a huge bundle of Bob The Builder toys. Excited was an understatement - Jack was over the moon. You see Jack loves anything which revolves around construction, when we moved into this house, anything in which he could help us with which involved the use of tools and he was quick to help, and still is.

Within our large parcel we were sent a wide range of the Bob the Builder range from Smoby including the first work bench, jigsaw, chainsaw, dress up set and tool bag.

Initially we built the work bench, every true builder needs a work bench to work from and cut everything from. This was the largest of the boxes, I expected it to be a nightmare to put together but was pleasantly surprised it wasn't. It took a matter of 15 minutes to place together and put the stickers on it was that simple. With the work bench it includes over 30 tools and accessories including a saw, hammer, spanner along with many screws and bolts. You can place together many of the pieces, or even just screw things onto the bench, you can let your imagination run free.

Secondly, we opened the dress up set. Of course, to work like Bob you need to dress like him, so this set was perfect. It comes with his famous checked shirt and work vest complete with phone and spanner to look the part. The top is velcro fastening so was easy to fit and for Jack to place on and off himself which made everything easier. There was also Bob's hardhat included too. The only thing negative I would say about this is the hardhat was a bit small fitting or both my children have large heads

Next up was the tool bag, of course with lots of tools you need something stylish to carry them all around in so the bag came in useful. Coming complete with a mechanical drills which spins, a saw, hammer and spanner which are all neatly packed and stored within a large backpack. As we had some of the tools already a saw and a spanner I found it was the perfect opportunity for Jack to share with Isla seems as shes interested in his toys too. Having multiple of one thing meant they could still play together using what they wanted to, without arguments.

Finally we have the jigsaw and chainsaw, the power tools. Both are designed just to be like those on Bob The Builder and both feature motorised safe blades which rotate on the chainsaw and move up and down on the jigsaw. Both make realistic noises when you press the buttons, perfect as all children love a bit of noise. Both require batteries which are included always a bonus and make the perfect addition to the range.

Both Jack and Isla have had so much fun with this, actually with Isla playing with it a lot more so. She loves to dress up and do some jobs around the living room whilst Jack puts more imagination and realism into his play.

Each of the sets are very reasonably priced and would make the perfect gift for those who love construction or Bob The Builder. You could always buy the work bench and have others buy the additional tools too.

We also have the chance for one of our lucky readers to win a Smoby Bob The Builder Tool Bag of their own.
