BRIO Builders Starter Set | A Review [#AD]

Tuesday, 19 February 2019
Regular readers will know what huge fans we are of wooden toys, particularly of BRIO. We have so much BRIO dotted around the house and its pretty much a well-loved brand. Ashley still has some of his from his childhood and hes 30 this month.

One thing I didn't know about BRIO is they make fantastic construction sets. That was until we were recently asked to review this BRIO Builders Starter Set.

This starter set contains 48 pieces including nuts, bolts, a spanner and some pliers amongst other construction pieces. There is also a booklet included full of building inspiration should your little ones need it. It then all packs away within a little plastic carry case, ensuring your tools are always together in one place.

In true BRIO tradition, the set contains real wooden pieces which are durable. Whilst the case, tools and fixings are plastic, it is a sturdy plastic which doesn't seem to be able to snap easy (trust me the kids have argued over pieces and sat on the box).

Both Jack and Isla have had so much fun with this set. Whilst Isla was mainly just screwing the nuts and bolts together, sometimes with wood, sometimes without Jack was more keen to get building things, using his imagination.

He built all kinds of things, from cars, to aeroplanes, mostly from his imagination, as hes a typical builder and not reading the instructions, but he did occasionally look for ideas.

Additional set can be purchased which match these further expanding the building possibilities. This is something I will certainly be looking into, and its Jacks birthday tomorrow and whilst hes still undecided on what he wants I may well look into expanding this set.

The set is aimed at children aged 3 and over, mainly because of the small fixings within the set. Both Jack and Isla have had endless fun with this. This set has an RRP of £16.99 and is available from all good toy shops.

Please Note: We received this in exchange for an honest review. All words and opinions are our own and not influenced in any way.
