Mummy Has a New Job

Friday, 4 July 2014
Yep, that's right. Mummy has a new job.

I've been looking for a new job for a while now, however recently I decided to focus my search on a career rather than a job. Whilst I was on jury service I applied for a couple of jobs at a well known store, some I got the dreaded 'sorry your application is not being taken any further' and for others I got asked for additional information. One I then didn't continue with again, however I did get put forward for another and offered an interview. This was rather scary, in all my working life I've only ever had 3 interviews and they were ages ago, I've never been interviewed by my current company. So off I toddled to the interview, to which I believed I had done terrible at to get a phone call 2 days later offering me employment. Of course, I accepted as there is an amazing career path with fantastic progressive opportunities available.

However, I'll be going back to work full time, for just over three years now, I've either been on maternity leave or working just 2 days a week. Whilst I was looking for a full time position and I am excited I worry I will miss Jack, worry we won't have any fun times together anymore, and worry about childcare. I spoke with Jacks nursery yesterday and they can only accommodate him for one more day a week which leaves 2 I need to find childcare for. I'm sure we will sort something out but I start in a weeks time.

  1. Eeek! Scary, exciting all rolled into one. Good luck in your new role and I'm sure the childcare will sort itself out.

  2. Congratulations! I'm sure it will be difficult for a while to get back into working full time, however, you will soon get used to it and your time off with Jack will be even more special. I hope you get his childcare sorted soon.

  3. Congratulations! I hope you will be very happy in your new job! Here's to your next chapter!
