Making window cleaning easier with Vileda | A Review

Friday, 23 December 2016
Cleaning the windows has to be up there as one of my least favourite house jobs, along with ironing. I love my children dearly, as I do the dogs but when they are working together to make the windows a cleaning hell then maybe not so much. The children are pros at sticky fingers all over the windows, especially the patio doors, then we have Dottie working on the other side of the patio doors to get muddy paw prints all over.

So recently when Vileda got in touch, giving us the opportunity to review the Vileda Windomatic I thought what better opportunity. Anything which can work at making cleaning the windows that bit easier and quicker would be perfect for us.

The Vileda Windomatic is a single unit device, with a detachable container which collects the water. It's wireless, and charges via a wire. The device comes with a small amount of battery but you should charge it for six hours before the initial use, then it gives up to 20 minutes cleaning time. When you remove the item from the box, a small amount of assembly is required in the form of attaching the wiper blade to the unit.

It's a lightweight and easy to use item, with a wide flexing blade which helps make quick work of cleaning the windows. The wiper blade can flex up to 15 degrees ensuring you are able to reach all the corners.

The windomatic is multi-purpose too, not only can you clean the windows but you can clear the condensation on windows, clean up drink spills we have lots of those, clean the mirrors and clean the car window screen of moisture. I have mirrored doors for my wardrobe which both children love to admire themselves within often meaning they looks disgusting too so we've had plenty of use from our windomatic already.

I'm surprised with how well it worked, and how much I've come to enjoy cleaning the windows now if the same could happen with the ironing please. I didn't expect it to work overly well, nor did I expect it to clean and leave no streaks but it did, exactly as advertised.

The Vileda Windomatic is currently priced at £49.99 and I think its certainly worth that price. It's made everything so much easier for us in regards to liquid spills and cleaning windows.
